You’ve tried numerous apps that promise to help you stay motivated while tracking your food intake, but none of them seem to work for you. Fitness Track Pro is a new app designed to help you stay motivated and on track with your fitness goals. This app offers various options to personalize your experience. One of its main features is your very own virtual pet, which you can name and nurture by completing missions. These missions also allow you to unlock special rewards to further customize your pet.
For this project, I drew inspiration from a variety of sources. I looked to Tamagotchi for the virtual pet concept and the mental wellness app Finch for additional ideas. For the fitness aspect, I primarily referenced MyFitnessPal. While I appreciate the app and believe it serves its purpose well, I felt that its user interface could be more user-friendly. I combined these elements into a multi-faceted app that does it all. The development process involved numerous iterations of the virtual pet's design, along with modifications to the color palettes throughout.
I ultimately decided on an app featuring contrasting colors, with bold, legible typefaces to accommodate a wide range of users. This design keeps it simple and easy to use. The chosen colors are blue and electric orange, both of which are known to enhance activity and productivity.
One of the biggest challenges I faced during this project was balancing simplicity with the inclusion of detailed information. To address this, I used visual data charts and graphs, as well as icons and imagery, instead of lengthy text. I am very pleased with how this project turned out; it holds a special place in my heart. I feel it has a lot of personality, and I hope that resonates with you as well. If there’s one aspect I would improve, it would be the effectiveness of the individual elements. Many were created in a complicated manner, and I believe I could produce the same results much more efficiently if I were to revisit the project now. Nevertheless, I am proud of this project and believe it came out exceptionally well.
